3 Crucial Small Business Tips

In the economic downturn you fixed it in your mind to start a business for success. You are tired of the 9 to 9s and the worrying if you’ll have a job and you realized you are good at what you do so you may as well turn it into a business opportunity for yourself. Likewise you may already have a business and it is not really moving the way you thought. I always tell business owners not to give up because what you’re doing is very important to the world; but you must do it in the right way. My friend asked me what keeps me going and keeps me successful and the best thing I could come up with are 3 crucial small business tips.
When I was younger my brothers would get in conversations with other kids about basketball and they would ask who your favorite basketball player is. We would respond, Scottie Pippen, or Clyde Drexler, or Ronnie Harper. Our phrase was, “after Michael Jordan,” so we knew that if Clyde was your favorite, that meant your second favorite because MJ is everyone’s favorite. I bring this up because the 3 crucial small business tips are assuming your have a great product or service. Your product or service has to be excellent to begin with or you must have an excellent angle to present it. Now once you have that you can now use these three crucial small business tips to amplify your businesses success.
Service
You have to provide great customer service. If you make it a point to be exceptional in your client services you will out do competitors based on the fact that you are just plain nicer than them. I do it all the time and my friends use to laugh at me especially when my money was low; I would go to a grocery store that was more expensive because they treated me better while in there. I could easily get 50 dollars worth of groceries 50 bucks at another store; instead I go and get 40 dollars worth for 50 bucks. I spent an extra $10 dollars just to treat me better. Some people call it crazy, but I call it being around people who have nice positive energy. The point is you too can win if you just treat your clients with exceptional service. This does not mean put up with grouchy customers; but treat clients like they are extremely special.
Application/Execution
Execution and great application is crucial small business tip number two. A lot of times we get lazy, unmotivated, unfocused and this is where things begin to separate the great businesses from the average businesses. You must have good application to be successful; you must be able to execute with preciseness and consistency. If you cannot you should hire or partner with someone who can. There are great basketball players in the NBA and around the world; the ones we hear about and know are the ones who can apply their skill the best and execute when it matters the most. And that is not a hit at Lebron James…
Leverage
The last tip you need to truly understand is leverage; once you understand that you cannot do this yourself you will take off to another level. Michael Jordan is going into the basketball all-time great list because for so long he thought he could do it himself. He posted unheard of numbers; but it wasn’t until you let his cohorts take much of the load off of him that he really excelled at his winning craft. You must allow yourself to do the same; you must leverage yourself. If it will take you 10 days to build a solid website, hire someone who can do it in one day. If it will take away from productive time to get your local marketing going, hire good local marketing helpers to so that you stay productive. You need to focus on doing what you do best and most efficient with your time and leverage your businesses success.

Constant Campaigning for Your Business

In light of the 2012 presidential elections we have seen candidate after candidate step to the podium and express why they are the best CEO to lead our country. Mostly it has been a republican stampede of candidates because the democrats are going to stick with President Obama for the most part since he has elected to run again. Each republican candidate is rolling out a massive campaign, which is another word for promotion for their legitimacy. We are not at the point where we see them on television every evening but we are seeing them attempt to get the national attention. Although we do not see them every day, I am willing to bet my morning breakfast that they and their team are promoting themselves everyday. This is what business owners have to do; campaign for your business.

This is not a one day thing, or something we do for a couple of weeks; it has to be a constant campaigning for your business. Nearly 80% of your business needs to live in the marketing, promoting, and campaigning. This will take effort, resources, and money but you have to make a budget for it; whether it is time or money (depending where your business is financially) and design a campaign. There are many marketing methods you can do to campaign and I would select the one you like doing the most or the method that is easiest to you and really spend time doing that to perfection.

How to Boost Creativity: Three Techniques

Whether you’re an aspiring novelist or a working copywriter, creativity plays a role in your work.

Fiction writers and poetry writers need creativity for obvious reasons. They need to come up with creative story ideas and find memorable images that will ring true for readers and have an emotional impact.

The same can be true for copywriters and web writers. When you’re writing to sell, your words have to rise above the noise. To do that they have to be grabbing or moving, they have to be authentic, and they have to be memorable… otherwise readers will click away to another web page or drop your ad in the recycling bin.

Fortunately, creativity is something you can learn. Use any on of these three techniques to discover how to boost creativity in your own marketing writing.

Keep a Journal: People are bombarded with images every day. And experiences. And sensations. Breath-taking moments. Epiphanies. These are all potential sources of creativity in your writing. But, only if you keep track of them. If you don’t, some of your best potential inspiration will be lost.

The best way to keep track of these moments so that you can turn them into creativity boosters later is to keep a journal. Keeping a journal does not have to be a lengthy time commitment. Set aside 15 to 20 minutes – even 10 minutes is better than nothing – and during that time write down the most inspiring moments you’ve had in the last 24 hours. These moments could be anything from a description of the sky peaking through clouds to a metaphor that struck you while watching a child play to the way the breeze feels when it ruffles your hair.

How to Buy Ebooks From Amazon Without a Kindle

Although Amazon will not confirm how many of their popular Kindle e-readers have been sold, the number is estimated to be in the millions. One testament to the Kindle’s popularity is that there are more than 950,000 ebook titles available for immediate download from Amazon’s Kindle store. Add to that all of the ways readers can buy Kindle ebooks even without owning a Kindle and you can believe Amazon’s claim that Kindle ebook sales have surpassed sales of print books.

All you need to buy ebooks from Amazon without a Kindle is one of the many free Kindle reading apps available. Start by going to Amazon.com. In the left navigation, click on Kindle, then Free Kindle Reading Apps. On that page you will find links to download the Kindle reading app for the Windows PC, Mac, iPhone and iPod Touch, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7.

With the app installed you can download free and paid ebooks from the Kindle store and read them on your favorite device. (Because of a recent change in the terms of service for Apple apps, ebooks can not be downloaded via the Kindle apps running on an Apple device. However, ebooks can be purchased through a web browser and delivered to the Apple device.)

Even if you own a Kindle, you may want to use one or more of the Kindle reader apps. Using an app on a mobile device allows you to buy from anywhere, and read anywhere, even if you don’t have your Kindle with you. Most people have their phones with them wherever they go, so anytime you have a few spare minutes you can read a bit of that novel you are having a hard time putting down. Any of the Kindle ebooks already in your library can be transferred to other devices, and the ebooks can be accessed from more than one device. For example, I have some of my Kindle ebooks on my Kindle, my PC and my iPhone.
